The Genesis lineup will soon be adding a new SUV line-up based on the Genesis GV80 Coupe Concept prototype with an extremely remarkable design to rival the BMW X6.
This week, Genesis kicked off its latest project, the Genesis GV80 Coupe Concept, in New York. This is confirmed to be a draft of a finished product line that will be introduced to global users in the near future.
As a concept, the Genesis GV80 Coupe has a 4-seat interior structure inspired by the X Speedium Coupe concept launched last year and a regular Genesis GV80 chassis. There is no denying that the curved ceiling structure gives this SUV a much more “sexy” physique than the original.
The front end of the Genesis GV80 Coupe Concept is perhaps the most prominent area with slim LED headlights using new multi-beam technology extending to the side of the car and large-sized bunkers. The chassis seems to be much lower than the usual SUV version currently on the market.
Meanwhile, the rear end of the Genesis GV80 Coupe Concept uses a tailgate-mounted spoiler with a small spoiler pulled from the ceiling as well as horizontal lights running parallel to the front interface. The dark orange tone chosen is quite vivid and eye-catching.
The changes made to the Genesis GV80 Coupe Concept’s interior are considerably more significant than the exterior. The 3-spoke steering wheel is redesigned, many surfaces are covered in Nappa leather or suede with orange stitching and adorned with carbon fiber cladding around. The number of seats is reduced to 4 with each seat being a high-class backrest using an orange-tone carbon fiber back similar to the exterior.
The Genesis GV80 Coupe Concept will make a public appearance at this week’s New York auto show for the public to see. The complete version of the car will be introduced to users expected in 2024.
