Megan Danielle won a sing off against Paige Anne on Monday’s episode of American Idol, but spoilers claim the loser will be back as part of the expanded Top 26.
The two-hour Showstopper/Final Judgment episode opened with Megan, 19, of Douglasville, Georgia, performing in a sing off against Paige, 16, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, to the Adele song Easy On Me.
Megan was named the winner of the sing off by judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan and they welcomed her into the Top 24.
Katy, 38, later in the show told two contestants who believed they had been eliminated that they were part of the expanded Top 26.
The ABC show, however, only showed 25 singers advancing to the next round in Hawaii.

Spoilers from previously reliable sources have claimed that Paige will be performing as part of the Top 26, according to Cheatsheet.com.
Paige went first in the sing off with no reverb and no microphone on Sunday’s episode and her impressive vocals earned a quick standing ovation from Katy.
‘All right, then,’ Megan said after Paige’s stellar performance as she prepared to sing in front of the judges.
‘All right. Let’s hear you, Megan,’ judge Luke, 46, told her.
Megan closed her eyes for most of her performance as she performed a heartfelt rendition that showcased her sweet tone and powerful voice.
Lionel Richie, 73, smiled as she performed and Luke looked on with his face full of emotion.
All three judges gave Megan a short standing ovation after her performance.
The judges were all in agreement as Luke delivered the news to Paige that she wasn’t in their top 24.
‘Megan, we think you’re a star,’ Katy said.

‘Thank you,’ Megan said as she wiped away tears.
‘What we’ve gotta get this girl to understand, is truly how spectacular you are,’ Luke told Megan.
‘I might lose it. Sorry,’ Megan said.
‘Listen, I’m getting emotional talking to you about how wonderful you’re voice is. Understand?,’ Luke said.
‘Yes, sir,’ Megan replied.
Paige took the sing off loss in stride and told her mother that she had time.
Megan approached her family on a large video screen and said, ‘So, y’all know I got to the top 24, right?’ as they erupted in cheer.
The season 21 episode featured a surprise as the Top 24 was expanded to the Top 26.

Iam Tongi, 18, of Kahuku, Hawaii, was the last singer top make the Top 24 after delivering a touching version of The Sound Of Silence.
The judges revealed that his friends from the New Orleans audition, Matt Wilson and Colin Stough, were also going to be part of the new Top 26.
Colin and Matt were ready to leave before Katy revealed they were staying on the show.
Iam, Colin and Matt hugged after learning they were advancing together and also embraced the judges.
Platinum ticket winner Cam Amen, 27, of Omaha, Nebraska, was surprisingly eliminated after impressing the judges during his New Orleans audition.
He performed The Impossible Dream during his Showstopper and afterward was confident that he made it into the Top 24.
‘I do feel very strongly that I did make top 24. I’ve learned so much and I feel like I could only learn a lot more. I’m excited. I’m very excited, actually,’ he said in a confessional before Final Judgment.

Lionel delivered the news to Cam that he didn’t make the Top 24 and hugged him afterward.
He was the second Platinum ticket winner to be eliminated after Kaylin Hedges, 15, of Pound Ridge, New York, was sent home on Sunday’s episode.
Platinum ticket winner Elijah McCormick, 21, of Raeford, North Carolina, advanced on Monday’s episode after performing Believe For It during his Showstopper performance.
Marybeth Byrd, 21, of Armorel, Arkansas, was the first to advance into the Top 24 on Monday’s episode after her Showstopper performance of the Carrie Underwood song Flat On The Floor.
Elise Kristine, 18, of Issaquah, Washington, advanced after singing Feeling Good and was joined by Olivia Soli, 20, of Los Angeles, who performed All By Myself for her Showstopper.

Katy also took to Instagram on Sunday as she shared images of herself in an all-white outfit while reflecting on the current crop of talent on American Idol.
She wrote as a caption for her roughly 196 million followers: ‘found these in my photo album from nyc press and thought it was appropriate to share cause I’m feeling PRESSED whittling down our final contestants’.
Katy in the snaps wore a white crop top with crisscross straps and a plunging neckline along with matching trousers and a short white jacket.
She had her hand on her hip while taking selfies in a mirror.
American Idol will return on Sunday with the first part of the Top 26 performing at Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii.
