Lionel Messi has swapped his football kit and boots for Louis Vuitton’s best as the face of the famous fashion brand’s new Horizon’s Never End campaign.
After causing a stir for the fashion label in an advert with long-term rival Cristiano Ronaldo prior to the World Cup, Messi has renewed his relationship with LV and gone solo for this new campaign launch.
Detailing the Horizon’s Never End campaign on their website, the fashion house explained the ethos behind the collection.
‘Celebrating the spirit of travel, the new Louis Vuitton campaign is an homage to the Iconic Horizon collection.’
‘In a series of photos taken by photographer and filmmaker Glen Luchford, football legend Lionel Messi is captured en route to his next destination, accompanied by his Horizon suitcase. Emblematic of the Maison’s heritage, the Louis Vuitton Horizon line offers unprecedented perspectives and infinite freedom.’

The image tweeted out by Louis Vuitton shows Messi perfectly suited in a smart black suit and shoes, sitting in what looks like a departure lounge and surrounded by luggage bearing the famous logo.
It’s an picture that presents an ironic undertone to it, given the PSG star’s club future is unclear and he could be about to pack his bags for pastures new.
Messi’s contract with the French champions expires at the end of the season and the 35-year-old is not expected to sign a new deal with the club.
Instead he reportedly has his heart set on an emotional return to Barcelona, and is just waiting on a call from club president Joan Laporta before agreeing to a possible reunion with the Catalans.
Barcelona aren’t the only club linked with a move with Messi, with MLS side Inter Miami remaining keen on bringing him to the States, while there is interest from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal who have offered the World Cup winner a £350million-a-year deal.
