Kylian Mbappe’s mother has shed light on the France captain’s recent public spat with PSG.
Mbappe hit out on social media after the club released a promotional video advertising season tickets whilst almost exclusively featuring the 24-year-old forward.
The public rift led many to speculate that the former Monaco star could be on his way out of the Parc des Princes, but Mbappe has since reaffirmed his desire to secure a first-ever Champions League title for the Parisian club.
In an interview with French broadcaster Public Senat per AS, Fayza Lamari defended her son’s actions but revealed that she had warned him not to go public with announcing his discontent with the club.
‘Kylian spoke from his heart in the heat of the moment, he was angry. He reacted like a kid who was born in the social media age. Everyone has their own way of communicating.

‘He called me and he was angry. I understood how he felt and I told him: “Right now, in the heat of the moment, is not the time to react, leave it for now and there will be time to ask for explanations later”.
‘And he replied: “No, I don’t want to wait. I know what the consequences are and I will accept them.”‘
Superstar teammates Lionel Messi and Neymar were entirely absent from the promotional video, with Mbappe stating that he was not informed of how the material would be used by the club.
‘I have just taken part in the viewing of the club’s renewal campaign for the 23/24 season,’ he wrote on his Instagram.
‘At no time was I informed of the content of the interview with my interlocutor. It looked like a basic interview at a club marketing day. I disagree with this posted video.

‘That’s why I fight for individual image rights. PSG is a big club and a big family, but it is certainly not Kylian Saint Germain.’
Christophe Galtier’s side are currently top of Ligue 1 having defeated title-rivals Lens 3-1 on Saturday courtesy of first-half goals from Mbappe, Messi and Vitinha.
The result marks two league wins on the bounce for Les Parisiens, after back-to-back defeats threatened the Frenchman’s position at the helm of the of the French capital club.
