Diego Moreira is a highly rated young Portuguese international and it now looks like he will be a Chelsea player at the end of the season according to reports in Portugal.
Moreira is out of contract at Benfica at the end of the season and he will not sign a new one before the window opens. He is free to negotiate with any club, and it looks like Chelsea have gotten hold of him.
It is another example of the focus on youth Chelsea have implemented in recent times.
As reported by Record Portugal, Chelsea have signed Diego Moreira from Benfica and he will join the club at the end of the season.
Chelsea have been scouting Moreira since last year so he is someone the club have had admiration for over a long period. Benfica will be disappointed to lose him, but the player decided against a new contract.
Moreira also had interest from PSG and AC Milan but he instead looks to have chosen the Premier League and a chance to prove himself at Stamford Bridge.
The Portuguese u-19 winger has two goals and two assists in 19 games for Benfica in the Liga Sasbeg, and has three goals for Portugal at u-15, u-18 and u-19 level in his career. He has also represented Belgium at youth level.
Another impressive youth signing for Chelsea and although it has not been made official as of yet the deal looks completely done.
