Bernardo Silva has given his Manchester City team-mate Erling Haaland a glowing review by comparing the Premier League’s top goalscorer to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Haaland has taken the Premier League by storm this season, scoring 48 goals across all competitions as Pep Guardiola’s side compete to secure a famous trophy treble.
The 22-year-old has shattered previously held expectations and thrust himself into the conversation as the world’s current best player after a debut season of excellence at the English top-flight.
Lionel Messi and Ronaldo have smashed goal records at both club and international level during their stellar careers and Silva believes Haaland is on the same level.
‘The goal figures, it’s unbelievable; it’s Cristiano and Messi level, that amount of goals,’ he told Arab News.

Silva additionally quoted similarities between Haaland and Lionel Messi (left)
‘Hopefully Erling can keep going that way because we need his goals until the last game of the season.
‘He has definitely got the same mentality as Cristiano, always wanting to be in the box, always wanting to score.
‘He doesn’t care if he touches the ball one or two times, when he touches he scores. He’s just a proper striker,’ he added.
Silva has similarly thrived as part of Guardiola’s City set-up this season, playing a key part in their hunt for the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup title.
The playmaker shares a national team relationship with Ronaldo at Portugal and has played alongside the five-time Ballon d’Or winner at the European Championship’s and World Cup.

Meanwhile, Haaland looks to have already wrapped up the Premier League’s golden boot race and is aiming to beat the all-time English goals record for a single season.
The Man City star will have to bag another 28 goals during the end-of-season run-in to match the 60 goal record set by Dixie Dean in 1927-28.
He could start to take the next steps towards breaking that tally when Premier League leader’s Arsenal travel to the Etihad on Wednesday evening.
