Bruno Fernandes is a doubt for Manchester United’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur.
Fernandes, 28, suffered an ankle injury during United’s penalty shootout FA Cup semi-final win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.
United’s captain for the day played through the pain barrier until the 101st minute before being replaced by Wout Weghorst.
Manager Erik ten Hag said: “There are some unavailable — (Lisandro) Martinez, (Raphael) Varane. We have to see how Bruno Fernandes is, we don’t know yet.
“He is a question mark. But I think for the rest, we are quite OK.
“It’s more often that players, we protect them, prevention but it has to settle down. We have seen he played a full game and it happened in the first half. But tomorrow is quick, we have to see what is possible.”
Ten Hag will be hoping Fernandes can recover in time for United’s final nine games of the campaign including Thursday’s visit to Tottenham.
United are back in action on Sunday when they host Aston Villa at Old Trafford.
They then face Brighton, West Ham, Wolves, Bournemouth, Chelsea and Fulham in the Premier League before taking on rivals Manchester City in this season’s FA Cup final on June 3.
Fernandes has once again proven to be a key player during Ten Hag’s first season in charge with the Portuguese playmaker scoring 10 goals and claiming 13 assists in 50 appearances for his club.
He has only missed three games this season with two of those (against Sevilla and Aston Villa) being down to suspension. Fernandes was also rested for United’s League Cup quarter-final victory over Charlton Athletic.
