Erling Haaland has revealed how ’embarrassing’ his taste in video games actually is, after the Manchester City star previously claimed he wouldn’t.
On and off the pitch Haaland is absolutely fascinating. Whether it’s scoring nearly 60 goals in a season, his perfect sleep pattern or causing the rise in underwear sales, the Norwegian is so interesting.
We’ve only had a year of getting to know him in the Premier League but we’ve certainly seen a hell of a lot of what he’s capable of in his debut campaign.
Of course he could yet end up helping Manchester City to win the league, FA Cup and Champions League treble before the season finishes.
Despite everything we do know about the 22-year-old’s life already, he had so far refused to tell the world what video game it was he enjoyed playing.
Speaking recently, the striker said, “Tomorrow, I will wake up & think about getting three points against Leeds. I can’t keep thinking about these records or else I would become crazy.
“I will go home, play some video games, eat something, and then sleep… I cannot tell people what video games I play. It is too embarrassing.”
Now though it seems that Haaland has changed his mind, taking to social media to post himself playing Minecraft on Friday night, the life of a world class footballer.
Haaland isn’t the only star player who likes to relax with video games but there aren’t too many of them talking about their Minecraft builds.
Argentina stars followed up their World Cup win at the end of last year by playing a spot of FIFA 23 at six o’clock in the morning, after a wild night of celebrating after the final.
Others like to wind down by taking up the stressful job of managing a football club in Football Manager, with Antoine Griezmann one of the most famous players of the franchise.
The Atletico Madrid forward recently revealed that he hasn’t signed himself on FM 23 because his save is with a team who couldn’t afford him.
Griezmann wouldn’t be able to sign Haaland on the game either, and the former Borussia Dortmund star’s ratings on the game were causing problems.
In fairness that is as realistic as anything else that happens on the simulator game considering the amount of damage his attributes have done in real life since joining City last summer.
