The unusual-looking ɢʀᴀss snake was discovered in the garden of retired man Josip Vranic in the Cʀᴏᴀᴛɪᴀn village of Kravarsko, which is ᴄʟᴏsᴇ to Zagreb.
“The snake was sunning on the concrete floor when I discovered her at my house, behind the garage”, the man claimed.
He was sʜᴏᴄᴋed and perplexed. He couldn’t believe he had just discovered soᴍᴇᴛʜing so uncommon.
Mr. Vranic used quick thinking to put the snake in a tiny basket before asking his friend Vedran Glavan, 46, to take pictures of the peculiar creature.
People who have seen the snake in our film don’t think it’s real, according to Mr. Glavan, and some even assume it’s a computer trick.
In the wild, two-headed snakes are incredibly uncommon. They form when a growing embryo starts to split but only does so partially, a condition known as polycephaly.
Since they are easy prey for predators due to their poor coordination and restricted movement, snakes in nature have quite low survival rates.
In order to give the snake the best chance of surviving, Mr. Vranic and Mr. Glavan agreed to transport it to their local zoo.
Mr. Vranic added that his intention was that she lived as long as possible under expert supervision and that other people could see the snake.
