This is an extremely unusual occurrence that an African python was seen on video attempting to consume an entire wildebeest.
The enormous snake appeared as its eyes were larger than its belly when it was found in the Sᴏᴜᴛʜ Aғʀɪᴄᴀn bush swallowing the enormous meal. The python, which can grow up to 16 feet long, was expected to try for much smaller prey, so it is believed to be the first time this behavior was captured on camera.
Manager Rudi Hulshof captured the horrifying event on camera at the Welgevonden Game Reserve in Sᴏᴜᴛʜ Aғʀɪᴄᴀ. Rudi said that he had been a game ranger in Sᴏᴜᴛʜ Aғʀɪᴄᴀ for 15 years and had visited various African nations, but that was the first time he had ever seen anything like it.
That was a remarkably uncommon observation, and to the best of his knowledge it was the first time that a Southern African python had been seen catching prey as large as a blue wildebeest.
Rudi claimed that while looking for lions and leopards, he came across this peculiar meeting. The wildebeest, according to Rudi, was only a couple of months old but was enormous in comparison to the African python.
Rudi and his team didn’t discover anything when they returned the following morning after leaving the location. No signs of the conflict, no pythons, and no wildebeest were present. The python probably had a substantial meal and was looking for a secure location to digest it because everything was gone.
